I’ve covered thousands of kilometres with the Y1000, and every single feature makes training simpler, more effective and easier to prepare for: easy installation, the ability to store multiple roadbooks ready to go, an incredible screen with excellent visibility even in direct sunlight, full integration of FIM/Dakar navigation rules, and much more.
Even if you’re not planning to race in the desert or use roadbooks, the Y1000 is a fully functional Android device, giving you access to all your favourite apps. You can navigate using Google Earth, Google Maps, GPX viewers and many others.
Personally, I love being able to finish my roadbook training, switch to Google Maps and simply navigate back to my hotel or van.

CONTROL
Wired controls with CHECK integration in F2R Roadbook. DR001 comes with the Moto bundle; DRA01 is for cars and SSVs.
PROTECT
A protective cover for storing or transporting the Y1000 when it is not mounted on the vehicle.
HEAR
Audible alerts for checkpoints, warnings and speed zones, with adjustable volume in F2R Roadbook.
PREPARE
A powered desktop setup for loading roadbooks, configuring your device and preparing your next ride.
Designed for vehicle navigation, it combines a machined aluminium housing, impact-resistant glass, physical brightness control and direct vehicle power.
PMS stands for Power Management System. It manages the Y1000's power consumption while the vehicle is stationary, helping protect the vehicle battery. Factory settings dim the screen after 2 minutes, enter power saving after 5 minutes and switch off the device after 1 hour.
It connects directly to the vehicle battery using its dedicated power cable.
No. The Y1000 runs from the vehicle battery rather than an internal battery.
Device, 12V power cable, assembly kit and screen protector kit. Bracket, remote and buzzer are separate accessories or bundle components.
In F2R Roadbook, DR001/DRA01 remotes let you mark notes as checked and access functions for advancing notes and resetting tripmeters.
Yes. Rotate the physical dimmer to change brightness; a short press locks or unlocks touch input.
For supported apps, DR001/DRA01 profiles switch automatically with the active app. MyGamma shows what each button does.

Yes, with a compatible third-party app. F2R Roadbook uses OpenRally .GPX and .RBK files.
Yes. Apps can be installed through Google Play Store.
Use Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot. The Y1000 has no SIM-card/mobile-data connection.
The manual specifies submersion up to 50 cm. Do not use pressure washers.
Yes. It can also be used on quads, SSVs and cars.
Yes. Standby keeps the device running at low power. Press a physical button on the device or remote to wake the screen.
Yes. In MyGamma > Device Data, you can adjust the delays for screen dimming, power saving and shutdown within preset limits.
MyGamma brings together device data, PMS settings, remote profiles, user guides and support tools, including bug reports and support-ticket access.
Apps update through Google Play. GammaOS updates are available over the air through MyGamma or the Android system updater. Follow the user guide for installation.
The Y1000 is accepted for use in any rally outside the W2RC and other races that require a device with a closed operating system. Confirm with the organiser first.
Three years from first use, subject to the user guide's warranty conditions.
